The polling suggests that student debt relief is a politically savvy move, as activists have pointed out for years.
“It’s as if enacting popular public policy that helps everyday people is actually good politics,” said Ilhan Omar.
“I don’t hear any of these Republicans squawking when we give massive tax breaks to billionaires,” Sanders said.
The lawmaker reminded followers that it’s thanks to activists that the White House canceled student debt at all.
