It’s a pleasant day, and a man is watering his plain green lawn when he hears something astonishing going on in his neighbor’s yard. Is it those pesky teenagers again? He peeks over the hedge only to check it out…and discovers something really amazing! His neighbor’s front yard isn’t just a dull green lawn, it’s filled with fruits and vegetables…and they are dancing and having a party – a garden party! In contrast, the man’s grass garden is pretty quiet.

As more and more neighbors start to join the party, the man eventually decides to join in and have some fun himself!

See if you can name all the fruits and vegetables in this video. Which of these grow where you live?

Want to have your own garden party? It’s easy to get started by following these steps.

  1. First, find a good place to grow each plant where there is good access to the sun and healthy soil.
  2. Second, plant the seeds or seedlings, following the planting directions.
  3. Third, water the plants properly and add mulch to keep them moist.
  4. Then, wait a couple of weeks and the party will get started. Be sure to invite your neighbors!

Tip: Don’t forget that compost has the best ingredients to help your plants grow, grow, grow!
