Ladydrawers: “Being of Service“

Part of the Series

LadydrawersOur recent investigations into the legislative roots of cultural misogyny – and the history of women’s rights struggles to right them – have been very revealing. But there are modern repercussions, too, and today’s strip launches a new year-long look at contemporary gender and economic justice around the world. A collaboration with labor reporter Sarah Jaffe, comics artist Delia Jean and Anne Elizabeth Moore, “Being of Service” explains what’s behind the nationwide food service worker protests.

As always, you can catch all the previous strips here. If you’re nearby, come see our exhibition “SEX. MONEY. RACE. GENDER. The Ladydrawers (of Chicago, Ill.) at the A+D Gallery.” And on July 18th, Sarah Jaffe and Delia Jean will copresent a free workshop for food-service workers in the gallery. We’d love to see you there!
