Shyamala Ramakrishna

Shyamala serves as a research and program associate in the Democracy Program, focusing on money in politics. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, she interned at the Legal Resources Centre, South Africa’s leading public-interest law NGO. There she produced research on a wide range of issues, from case law on the constitutionality of the religious exemption clause of the country’s same-sex marriage law, to a quantitative analysis of police resource allocation in Cape Town’s various communities. In 2015, she interned in the Human Rights Program of the American Civil Liberties Union.
