Joedy McCreary

Joedy McCreary is a senior reporter at OpenSecrets. He has more than 25 years of journalism experience at The Associated Press, USA Today and WNCN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Raleigh, N.C. He held a leading role on USA Today’s national misinformation team, where he investigated political influence campaigns and debunked viral misinformation and misleading narratives tied to elections and money in politics. He also produced dozens of data investigations at WNCN and created and launched the station’s fact-checking program, held numerous roles across 17 years and three state bureaus at the AP and most recently covered national health policy trends for MedPage Today. Joedy has a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University.
