David Bromwich teaches literature at Yale University. A TomDispatch regular, he is the author of Moral Imagination and The Intellectual Life of Edmund Burke: From the Sublime and Beautiful to American Independence. His new book, American Breakdown: The Trump Years and How They Befell Us (Verso Books), will be published in 2019.
