Camika Royal is an associate professor of urban education at Loyola University Maryland. Her research and scholarship focus on racism and the historical and sociopolitical contexts of school reform. She is a native Philadelphian and the author of Not Paved For Us: Black Educators and Public School Reform in Philadelphia, (Harvard Education Press, 2022).
