Pauline Lipman

Pauline Lipman is professor of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago and director of the Collaborative for Equity and Justice in Education. A long-time Chicagoan and education activist, her research focuses on race, class, urban policy, and urban education and social movements. Her books, High Stakes Education: Inequality, globalization, and urban school reform (2006) and The New Political Economy of Urban Education: Neoliberalism, Race, and the Right to the City (2011), examine the Paul Vallas years and beyond.
