Barbara Shelly

Barbara Shelly is a freelance journalist. She began her journalism career covering school boards for a daily newspaper in Reading, Pennsylvania. After stints as a reporter in Syracuse, New York, and a columnist and editorial writer for The Kansas City Star, she drifted back to the classrooms, because that’s where great stories begin or end. She can often be found biking around Kansas City, which, contrary to popular belief, is not flat.
