Xandan Gulley

Xandan is a trans writer incarcerated in a Texas state prison. Xandan has been held in “restrictive housing” (effectively solitary confinement) for over seven years — treatment he sees as punishment for his gender identity and as retribution for his published exposés that unveil the inhumane conditions that transgender incarcerated people face. Some of his articles can be found in the San Francisco Bay View, Texas Letters Project, Southern Cultures Journal, Prison Insider, The Advocate, and LGBTQ Nation.
