Joseph Essertier

Joseph Essertier is an American scholar of Japan studies and an activist who has lived in Japan for over 20 years. He does research on modern Japanese literature and intellectual history, and he is an associate professor at the Nagoya Institute of Technology. Recently he has written various articles on war-related topics, including US militarism in Japan and Korea, atrocity denialism in Japan, and grassroots Japanese resistance to the historical revisionism of elite politicians. Currently, he is the volunteer country coordinator for World Beyond War.
