Bounchan Keola

Bounchan Keola is a Khmu refugee from Laos and a formerly incarcerated firefighter who fought in the 2020 California wildfires. After finishing his prison sentence in October 2020, Keola was transferred to ICE. In May 2021, Keola received a pardon from Governor Gavin Newsom and reunited with his sister and parents in Pinole, CA.
