Boone Shear

Boone Shear is a lecturer in the Anthropology Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a member of the Community Economies Collective and an editorial board member of Rethinking Marxism. He is co-editor, with Susan Brin Hyatt, and Susan Wright, of Learning Under Neoliberalism: Ethnographies of Governance in Higher Education. His research and political interests coalesce around critical investigations of capitalism and efforts to imagine and organize around hidden, suppressed or unrealized ways of being in the world. Boone lives with his 10-year-old daughter Rose in Amherst along with two chickens and two guinea pigs.
