Blake Dodge

Blake Dodge is an intern for the Center for Public Integrity’s Business of Politics reporting team and a rising senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is pursuing an undergraduate degree in English with minors in political science and philosophy. Blake founded and reports for Backbone NC, an online media organization based in Chapel Hill, which aims to inform local policy matters with storytelling, reporting and features on the ‘unnoticed.’ She was a senior writer for the state and national politics team for UNC’s college newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel, and published several opinion pieces for Raleigh’s News & Observer. Blake also runs varsity track and sings in the southern folk band, Dissimilar South. Prior to joining the Center for Public Integrity, Blake interned at the nonprofit Families Against Mandatory Minimums, where she drafted an adopted amendment to the U.S. Sentencing Commission and led a national photo series. Blake is a native of Beaufort, N.C.
