Aviva Aron-Dine

Aviva Aron-Dine is a senior fellow and senior counselor at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. From 2015 to 2017, she served as a senior counselor to the secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with responsibility for Affordable Care Act implementation, and for Medicaid, Medicare and delivery system reform policy. Prior to her time at HHS, she served as associate director for economic policy and then as acting deputy director and executive associate director of the Office of Management and Budget, and as a special assistant to the president for Economic Policy at the National Economic Council. She previously worked at the Center from 2005 to 2008, specializing in federal tax policy. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s in philosophy from Swarthmore College.
