Arif Dirlik

Dr. Arif Dirlik lives in Eugene, Oregon, in semi-retirement. He was formerly Knight Professor of Social Science and Professor of History and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Oregon and Professor of History and Cultural Anthropology at Duke University. He was also formerly a Distinguished Visiting Fellow, the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, University of British Columbia, and has held honorary appointments at China Center for Comparative Politics and Economics, Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, Beijing, the Center for the Study of Marxist Social Theory, Nanjing University, Northwest Nationalities University, Lanzhou, PRC, and has taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
