Serges Demefack

Serges Demefack serves as coordinator for the American Friends Service Committee’s (AFSC) End Detention and Deportation Project in Newark, New Jersey. Before coming to AFSC, he worked as the secretary of the African chapter of the International Corrections and Prison Association, as a bilingual consultant for the Nigerian NGO Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action and as a fellow and consultant for Justice Without Borders for Migrants. Serges was born in Cameroon, and holds a MA in law from the University of Douala and an MA in international affairs from the New School.
