Roland Farris

Roland Farris is a Canadian citizen who lectures in social sciences and humanities at a major Chinese university. He has been an active China researcher since 2008 and has published several articles in print and online under his real name. He has a lifelong interest in Chinese traditional culture, particularly the martial arts. After seeing greater tightening of restrictions on free speech, random searches of foreign computers and arrest of prominent dissidents, as well as directly experiencing a rise in anti-foreign violence in China, Roland has taken steps to protect himself and those close to him by using a pseudonym.
