Miguel Molina-Ventura

Miguel Molina-Ventura is Director of Membership and Advocacy at The People’s Lobby, an organization of people across the Chicago region who fight together for racial, economic, and environmental justice. He was born in Guerrero, Mexico, and immigrated to South Central Los Angeles with his parents when he was two years old. He started organizing at the age of 17 in the immigrants’ rights movement and has worked in community organizing and electoral politics in California, Iowa, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and Illinois. He served as The People’s Lobby’s lead organizer for environmental justice and public transit in the coalition effort that successfully pushed the Illinois General Assembly to transform the Chicago region’s transit system, stop the fiscal cliff that threatened $800 million in budget cuts, and reinvest $1.5 billion transit statewide.
