Kadin Mills

Kadin Mills is a 2024 graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He is a first-generation descendant of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community of Lake Superior Ojibwe. He is also of German and Irish descent. Mills worked closely with Patty Loew as a research assistant on the 2022 Tribal Youth Media Workshop, taking part in community building efforts in Indigenous communities across the country.

Mills has written for The Daily Northwestern where he served as both opinion editor and in focus editor. He has also contributed to WBEZ’s Curious City, reporting on local Indigenous history in Chicago. Mills is also looking forward to the 2025 publication of his chapter in an edited volume by Norbert Hill. Mills was a 2022 Udall Scholar in tribal public policy and a recipient of a 2022 Fletcher Award from the NU Office of Undergraduate Research for his work with Loew.
