Jim Burroughs

Jim Burroughs, director, producer and cinematographer, has filmed on six continents, documenting wars, expeditions and historical events. He was an Academy Award nominee for ‘Cuban Odyssey’ and received an Academy Award of Special Merit for ‘La Belle Epoque.’ Having produced for PBS, ABC, A&E and Channel 4 UK, his documentary directing credits include ‘La Belle Epoque,’ ‘Cuba in the Shadow of Doubt,’ and ‘Quest for the Ark.’ On his 26-part series ‘Quest: Origins of Our Beliefs,’ he traveled the globe studying various cultures and belief systems. A music composer and writer as well, he has just completed his first nonfiction book, ‘Blood on the Lens,’ (Potomac Books), a memoir of the shooting of the film, ‘Shadow of Afghanistan.’ He is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
