James Benton Kelly

James Benton Kelly is a retired professor having taught filmmaking, theory and history at Ryerson University in Toronto, Rochester Institute of Technology and Montana State University. Kelly was on the Executive of the Council of Canadian Filmmakers, Canadian Society of Cinematographers, Canadian Film Editors Guild; juror for Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council. Filmmaker: Documentaries, including ‘Red Sunday’ for the US Bicentennial Commission awarded the ‘Wrangler’ at the Western Heritage Awards. Cinematographer for several feature films; member of IATSE 644c. Detachment Commander in the 1365th Photographic Squadron US Air Force documenting important events.
