Heather C. Jarvis
Heather C. Jarvis is a resilient advocate for women facing gender-specific challenges in the criminal legal system. A survivor of addiction and incarceration, she transforms her experiences into powerful narratives through writing, speaking, social work and storytelling. Heather’s work has been featured in various notable publications, including The Crime Report, Slate, Scalawag Magazine and the Prison Journalism Project, among others.
Holding an A.A.S. in correctional rehabilitation from Sinclair College, she is currently a social work major at The Ohio State University. Her firsthand experiences with incarceration and generational crime, both as a child and parent, fuel her advocacy. As a 2024 Represent Justice Ambassador, Heather’s story of transformation and courage inspires others to find their strength and change their narratives.
