Elio Dortilus

Based in his hometown of Haut Limbe in rural North Haiti, Elio Dortilus is an agriculturalist, community organizer and facilitator in rural development. While studying agronomy at the Université Chrétienne du Nord d’Haïti, he was one of six students in Haiti selected to participate in the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His work focuses on addressing soil degradation, the overuse of charcoal as a primary household fuel, climate change and the importance of supporting local food production.
