The lion’s share of Truthout’s operating budget comes from people just like you who read a story and donate a few bucks to help support independent journalism. We don’t run ads or require subscriptions, so we depend on these small donations to stay online. 

But after more than 20 years of being donor-supported, our newsroom’s survival is at stake — and we have an urgent need for your help.
