Tasmiha Khan

Tasmiha is a graduate of Wesleyan University and is currently an MA candidate studying Social Impact at Claremont Lincoln University. She founded Brighter Dawns, a nonprofit that has received local and national accolades for its work to improve slum conditions in Bangladesh by empowering women to address the sanitation crisis. While Tasmiha was invited to the White House to meet with President Obama in recognition for her work abroad, this past presidential campaign helped her recognize that she also wanted to engage in social justice issues more locally. Currently, she serves as the associate campaign director for both maternal justice and health care with MomsRising. Tasmiha was named a 2017-2018 Net Impact Racial Equity Fellow. She is passionate about interfaith cooperation as a vehicle for change and is a fellow with Interfaith Youth Core. She also has a passion for reviving traditional Islamic sciences and spirituality while fiercely standing up for her principles, and is a mentor and coach for youth struggling with their religious identity.
