Elizabeth Zach

Elizabeth Zach was a 2015 media fellow with Stanford University’s Bill Lane Center for the American West, for which she researched and wrote about the notable increase in women farming and ranching the region over the past 30 years. As the staff writer at the nonprofit Rural Community Assistance Corporation, she covers rural poverty and economies, the environment and affordable housing in the rural West. She is a 2016 fellow with the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California, focusing on rural health care and the ongoing trend of rural hospital closures across the nation.
