Cathy Herbert

Cathy Herbert earned her bachelor’s degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her master’s degree from the University of Delaware. During a career as a painter, her work appeared in solo exhibitions at galleries in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Washington. She received a state arts council grant, was awarded residencies at The MacDowell Colony and other venues, and taught fine arts and art history in a variety of settings, from state universities to maximum security prisons. For the past 25 years, she also worked as a feature writer and editor for national magazines and websites, including Towne & Country and the Rodale Press Book Division. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times. She owns Cherbert Editorial and writes and edits for medical journals, websites and consumer audiences.
