Arturo Hernandez Garcia

Arturo Hernandez Garcia is a loving husband, father, and small business owner who has lived in the United States for 16 years. On October 21st, 2014, Arturo entered the First Unitarian Society of Denver Church, seeking sanctuary to avoid deportation. Nine months later–after tireless advocacy by Arturo, his family, and the Metro Denver Sanctuary Coalition, an organization coordinated by the American Friends Service Committee and seven member congregations–Arturo was able to leave thesanctuary and rejoin his family outside the church walls.
